Gedurende de maand augustus zal Heike rondhangen in de exporuimte/op verdieping 1 van De Markten en kijken hoe ze iedereen die langskomt kan ontmoeten. Dit is een uitnodiging om haar daar te bezoeken...

Post/Pandemics gaat in op de vraag hoe een groep een groep wordt, hoe een groep andere groepen ontmoet en hoe het concept van sociale integratie zelf een zeer twijfelachtig concept is. Hoe ga je in tegen de veronderstelling dat er zoiets bestaat als een samenleving waar anderen zich moeten aanpassen? In plaats van te werken met oproepen, selectieprocessen en allerlei gangbare strategieën om diversiteit of exclusiviteit te creëren/verzekeren, wil Post/Pandemics liever vertrouwen op willekeur en toeval, als het erom gaat mensen uit te nodigen in een proces van verkenning: een verkenning van wat er gebeurt wanneer we NIET werken aan oplossingen voor problemen, NIET aan resultaten na onderzoek of NIET aan dé alternatieve voor de status quo.
Bevrijd van de druk om deugdelijke alternatieven te produceren vinden we misschien nieuwe mogelijkheden in onszelf – om ‘even op aarde te zijn’, wie weet?

Post/Pandemics pursues the question of how a group becomes a group, how a group meets other groups, and how the very concept of social integration is a highly questionable one. How to counter the assumption that there is such a thing called society that other/s need to adapt to? Instead of working with calls, selection processes and a variety of common strategies for the creation/assurance of diversity or exclusivity, Post/Pandemics prefers to rely on randomness and chance, when it comes to inviting people into a process of exploration: an exploration of what happens when we are NOT working towards solutions for problems, NOT towards results following research or NOT towards alternatives to the status quo. Freed from the pressure to produce adequate alternatives we may find new possibilities in ourselves – for 'being there on earth', who knows?

Refuge d’été * est la toute première étape de Post/Pandemics, un projet initié par radical_hope.
radical_hope est une plateforme de recherche artistique et de concrétion, dirigée par l'artiste de performance, Heike Langsdorf en collaboration avec d’autres personnes et organisations et, pourquoi pas, dans ce cas, avec vous aussi qui nous lisez.
 
Durant le mois d’août, Heike sera présente dans la salle d'exposition au premier étage de De Markten où elle tentera de rencontrer tou.te.s ceux/celles qui passent. Ceci est une invitation à elle rendre visite là-bas.
 
Post/Pandemics s’intéresse à la question de savoir comment un groupe en devient un, comment un groupe en rencontre d’autres et comment le concept même d'intégration sociale est-il lui-même très discutable.
 
Comment contrer l'hypothèse selon laquelle il existe une entité appelée société à laquelle les autres doivent s’adapter ?
 
Au lieu de stagner dans le cercle des appels à candidatures, des processus de sélection et d’une variété de stratégies communes pour créer/assurer la diversité ou l'exclusivité, Post/Pandemics préfère compter sur le hasard et sur la chance, lorsqu'il s'agit d'inviter les gens dans un processus d'exploration:
Il s'agit d'une exploration de ce qui se passe lorsque nous ne travaillons PAS à trouver des solutions aux problèmes, PAS à obtenir des résultats à la suite de recherches ou PAS à proposer des alternatives au statu quo.

Libéré.e.s de la pression de produire des alternatives adéquates, nous trouverons peut-être en nous-mêmes de nouvelles possibilités d'"être, ici, sur terre", qui sait ?
