CHANGING ROOM- rehearsals for a changing world

During the month of May Changing Room - the prototype by radical_hope, took place in an old garage at Micromarché in the heart of Brussels. Like any changing room in a normal commercial environment, a C-Room is a space, where we try out different looks. It is the free place where we perform another im/possible world - even if it is only by changing our clothes.

The project Changing Room is a changing room, but on a larger scale. Entering the space we are invited to change all that is changeable : the entire interior of the space or its functions. This room offers to rather try the change instead of waiting for it to happen. The world is changing anyhow and all the time. Let’s practice changeability, let’s toy with the status quo : changing ‘things’ or changing ‘ourselves’?

Changing Room - the prototype was ready to be visited, used, squatted, occupied, curated ... and changed from 1 until 31 May 2010  :

People could just have a look, pass by or leave a message if they were interested to spend some minutes, hours or a day in the Changing Room.

They were warned : 'A look can change the world !'

CHANGING LIBRARY : hope booklets by critical_radical_and_other_hope

3 out of 15 hope-booklets, made during the gathering : The Circulation Of Hope, organized by critical & radical hope in February 2010 : Without agreeing upon the content the 5 participants filled 15 Moleskine notebooks with contents of 'hope'. Taking the entries, previously made, into account it was meant to contribute by copying, modifying, altering and complementing 'what was there' already. These booklets are considered a 'moment of writing down' the groups' understanding of 'hope' after 5 days circulating within and around this matter.

Nevertheless, heavy and curly wigs were made for special occasions.
