Das Leben ist eine Kunst | 2010
" Das Leben ist eine Kunst" is a project composed for 7 community relief organisations based in railway stations in Bavaria/ Germany. Attendants of community relief organisations are mainly homeless or socially deprived people. Within the project social workers were instructed how to offer a working space for their guests in which they can do arts. The intention is to empower people, who are used to be seeking for help, to follow more self- determination and autonomie.
Between 2008 and 2009 various artistic works have been realised in 7 different citys. In Munich homeless people made photos of their spots and their pathes with one-way cameras. In Erlangen 2 photographers spent some time with the homeless and finally realised a fotocollage, were they pictured them as astronauts because of their way of life which is kind of far from gravitation. In an audiostation a collection of interviews gives some idea of how homeless people live.
In Passau and Munich a short movie was shot, which shows the big varity of people and their artistic works within the project.
In Mai 2010 the project will be completed with an exposition in the old town hall of Munich.
After the official closing of the 2-year-Project " Das Leben ist eine Kunst", homeless people, artists and social workers being involved are going to be asked for their opinions of the project. Furthermore a continuance is planned not only in Munich but as an european project in Brussels under the titel " bureau annex".
