LONE WOLF | 2008
In a composition of images, movements, sounds and colours some of the extremes between which life navigates are put face to face: old age and youth, fragility and strength, calm and tension, dreaming and being awake, loneliness and contact …
Between the dark opening scene and the final scene during which is scarcely spoken, the girl Anaïs and the very old Leonberger Kobe come on screen.
In real years the girl is about two years older than the dog (she’s almost 15, he is 13). But in reality things are quite different.
The dog is very, very old, he is approaching the end of his life and is suffering from ailments of old age.
The girl is very young, her life is just beginning and she’s fighting her way through adolescent storms.
Time and age become relative in this set-up.
Their meeting generates a magnetic field, within which both of them are safe from the harshness of life and death.
