TimeWarp | 1984
TimeWarp is the story of the making of TimeZones. On Sept. 21,1977 Tom Zafian and Ira Schneider left New York City to travel around the world and shoot video. we returned on DEc. 25, 1977 after having traveled for 14 weeks and shot in 120 locations, in 18 countries around the world. The resulting video was then shown as 24 channels, played simultaneously, as an installation piece. It was truly an epic journey resulting in an epic work.
The resulting piece, TimeZones, was first shown at the Everson Museum in Syracuse, NY in 1980 and then at the Whitney Museum in 1981. My understanding is that it has since
been shown many times at various museums and galleries throughout Europe.
