music performs | 2007
Music Per-forms displays three different answers by three different young composers/musicians to the challenge of how to interpret the theatrical and performative aspects of the concert situation, considered as an integral part of the music itself.
Petros Ovsepyan compresses sounds far beyond their apparent audible limits leaving behind traces as gestures of the original musical/compositional intention. David Helbich composes movements and gestures suggesting an acoustic experience, while TAPE THAT restages a recording of a live performance of W.A.Mozart's Divertimento KV 563, exhibiting the means of its capture and reproduction in order to expand on the sounds of the original.
Music Per-forms was a concert resulting from a 2 weeks residency in Netwerk/Aalst
